Screen Resolution
You can change the screen resolution level. All apps will close when you change the resolution.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps.
  2. Tap Settings > Display > Screen resolution and choose a screen resolution level.
  3. Tap Apply to change the resolution.
Screen Zoom and Font
You can set the screen zoom level and the font size and style.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access Apps.
  2. Tap Settings > Display > Screen zoom and font for the following options:
    • Drag the Screen zoom slider to adjust the zoom level.
    • Drag the Font size slider to adjust the size of text.
    • Tap a Font style to select a font, or tap Download fonts to find new fonts from Galaxy Apps.

Keep Screen Turned Off
You can prevent the screen from turning on while the device is in a dark place, such as a pocket or a bag.

Screen Saver

  3. Tap On/Off to enable or disable the following:
    • Gesture: Swipe up diagonally from either bottom corner to reduce the display size.
    • Button: Tap Home three times in quick succession to reduce the display size.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Unlock/Lock screen
  1. Pressing the Power key on Samsung Galaxy S8 will turns off the screen and locks it. Also, the screen turns off and automatically locks if the device is not used for a specified period. The Galaxxy S8 Plus screen is locked with Swipe, the default screen lock method.
  2. Press the Power key or the Home key and swipe in any direction to unlock the screen.
  3. To change the screen lock method, on the Apps screen, tap Settings → Lock screen and security → Screen lock type, and then select a method.
  4. When you set a pattern, PIN, password, fingerprint, or iris for the screen lock method, you can protect your personal information by preventing others from accessing your device.
After settings the Galaxy S8 screen lock method, the device will require an unlock code whenever to unlocking Galaxy S8.

  • You can unlock Galaxy S8 device’s screen remotely from the Find My Mobile website (findmymobile.samsung.com) using your Samsung account. To use this feature, the device must be connected to a Wi-Fi or mobile network and you must sign in to your Samsung account.
If the unlock code is forgotten, you will not be able to use the device if you do not reset Galaxy S8. Samsung is not responsible for any data loss or inconvenience caused by forgotten unlock codes.

You can set your device to perform a factory data reset if you enter the unlock code incorrectly several times in a row and reach the attempt limit.
  • On the Apps screen, tap Settings → Lock screen and security → Secure lock settings and tap the Auto factory reset switch to activate it.

Always On Samsung Galaxy S8

You can set the Galaxy S8 to display information, such as a clock, calendar, or image, on the screen when it is turned off.

  • Tap the switch to activate it.
  • Tap Layouts → Content to show and select an item to display.
When you select Clock or Calendar, you can set to display S8 notification icons as well.

When the screen is off, the device will display the selected information.
This feature will be deactivated when the Galaxy S8 battery power drops below 5 %.
